105 - Speed and Spyke

Storm is at a high school basketball game watching her nephew Evan play. The coach makes Pietro pass the ball to Evan and Evan makes the winning basket but gets knocked down. As he falls spikes grow out of his arms. He covers them and they disappear but not before Storm and Pietro notice. Storm watches Pietro walk off the court.

Pietro and Evan argue in the locker room about who's the better ball player. Storm walks in and talks to Evan about his powers. Later at home she tries to talk him into coming to Xavier's school. He asks her to wait until the next morning before talking to his parents about it. Xavier contacts Storm and tells her Jean and Scott are coming to help. He also tells Storm that Cerebro picked up another mutant at the ball game.

Next day at school Evan finds out that his locker has been broken into again. Pietro comes along and offers to loan him money as bait to catch the thief. At home Jean, Scott and Storm talk with Evan's parents about Evan joining the X-Men. Evan is rude to them and takes off. He heads back to the school where he finds out that Pietro is really a mutant too. Pietro (Quicksilver) wrecks the lockers and leaves Evan to take the blame.

Everyone shows up at the jail to get Evan. Scott says that Xavier will use his influence to get him out if Evan will join the school. He agrees. Next morning at breakfast the X-Men talk about Evan wanting revenge. Magneto talks to Mystique about how they can get Quicksilver to join the Brotherhood. They arrange a basketball game between Bayville and Evan's old school.

Evan is training in the danger room with the other X-Men. Kitty ends the session to tell Evan that a last minute game has been scheduled and he's needed at school. Evan confronts Pietro and Jean and Scott show up to help. Quicksilver ends up wrecking main street. The three X-Men end up taking him down. Evan is cleared of the charges and Magneto shows up to break Pietro out of jail. Quicksilver agrees to join Magneto.

At the mansion the X-Men are hanging out in the pool. Kurt cannonballs in and knocks Kitty off of her float. Xavier talks to Evan about how they're happy to have him. Evan jumps in the pool, lands on Kitty's float and pops it with his spikes. Xavier tells Storm that Evan fits in just fine.

1994 - X-Men1

This team of X-Men went through the most disastrous events the team had ever seen. They had to face two of the most powerful mutants alive - Professor X and Magneto - as the combined entity known as Onslaught. They needed the help of various heroes - Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Green Goblin, The Avengers, The Punisher, the Hulk, and Daredevil. Many of these heroes were seemingly killed in battle.

They also created the timeline known as the Age of Apocalypse after Charles Xavier was killed in the past. In that timeline, Apocalypse had taken over the world, and it took a united front of villains and heroes alike to come to terms that this world was different, and try and get it back to what it once was.

After all was said and done, members decided to retire, and newer mutants joined Xavier's dream. It seemed as long as there was trouble, there would be a group of X-Men dedicated to making the world a better place.

After members from both squads left the team, the rosters were re-organized to include new members to the fold. Both teams were co-led by Scott and Ororo. New to the Gold Strike Force was Samuel Guthrie. He had proved himself by leading the New Mutants from its inception to its end, as well as leading X-Force when Cable was away. Thus, Xavier asked him to join the X-Men.

They also had to stop Xavier's illegitamite son Legion from trying to change the world. He thought if he could go back in time and stop Magneto from causing the world such pain, the world would be a better place. However, when he did that, Xavier saved Magneto's life by having Legion kill him instead 20 years in the past. This caused the future to be changed temporarily - the heroes in the new timeline found a way to restore past.

This group of X-Men had to deal with their regular enemies, as well as discover the identity of a bring known as Onslaught. For weeks, the various X-teams had been taunted by a being that seemed to know exactly how to defeat them, yet they could never get a fix on what it was. Finally, Jean Grey discovered his identity, but Onslaught attacked and seemingly killed the X-Men.

As Jean was the only one left, she made a transmission to Alex Summers aka Havok of X-Factor, Nathan Summers aka Cable of X-Force, Kurt Wagner aka Nightcrawler of Excalibur and Sean Cassidy aka Banshee of Generation X, to tell them who Onslaught was and to try and stop him. It was this message that Bishop saw in the future before he joined the present day X-Men. Because of Bishop being able to put this all together, he managed to save Jean, as well as the Gold and Blue teams of X-Men. Onslaught was the result of Xavier shutting down Magneto's mind after his Avalon failed. The psychic residue become a physical being, having Magneto's and Xavier's mentalities - wanting a better place for humanity, but by any means necessary.

The X-Men also discovered the Xavier Protocols - a listing of all super heroes, and how they would need to be killed. This shocked the X-Men as they realized that the many nights Xavier had spent studying there powers, he had also come up with a means to kill every one of them.

However, the ensuing battle left the entire universe in chaos. Heroes from around the world came to aid in the battle. It seemed that Onslaught was very interested in the second generation of X-Men and the Fantastic Four; Nathan Summers and Franklin Richards respectively. United, they managed to beat Onslaught.

As Bishop realized the Gambit was not the traitor, as he had once thought, he decided to make up for his mistakes and work alongside him. At the same time, Bobby discoveded that his father had been beaten while trying to defend mutant rights, and decided that this life was too much for him now, and quit the team. Wolverine had devolved into a feral animal, and it was only with the help of Elektra did he manage to find himself once again. Cable realized that Cyclops was his father, and that he and Jean, as well as his missing sister Rachel, had raised him in the future.

With Onslaught beaten, Xavier gone to jail to pay for his crimes, and members leaving the fold, the X-Men needed to recruit newer memebers to continue the good fight - as it seemed to get deadlier with each day they lived.

This team of X-Men was led by Scott and Ororo, but functioned more as a team when in the field, will all members providing their input as most of them had served a long tenure with the team. However, with Jubilee gone to Generation X with Sean Cassidy, and Kwannon's death, and Logan moving to the Gold team to help out Scott more, this team needed more members. Along came Joseph and Maggot.

With Magneto believed dead after the fall of Avalon, Rogue was surprised to find a younger, amnesiac version of him in Europe. Having had a relationship with Erik Lehnsherr back when she was confused with the Ms.Marvel persona, she immediately decided to help the young man, as he no longer remember the life he once led, and could therefore be taught to walk a different path. At the same time, the real Magneto was alive, and sent a mutant known as Maggot to get rid of this imposter. However, after a battle with Psylocke, he repented and let Joseph go, and was allowed to join the team.

Rogue was having a hard time sorting out her feelings between Joseph and Remy, but the answer soon came to her in the form of an old villain. Sabretooth came back to the mansion to settle the score with Betsy, and killed her in battle. At the same time, he left subtle hints to Rogue about Remy's past with Mr.Sinister, when Sabretooth and Remy were both part of his Marauders. Warren and Logan left on a hunt to find a way to ressurrect Betsy, and managed to do so with the help of the Crimson Dawn. She was now able to shadow teleport, as well as have stronger psychic powers. When they returned, the truth about Remy's past was revealed.

During the mutant massacre of the Morlocks, Remy was one of Sinister's men who led the Marauders to the sewers to kill the mutants. Remy claimed that he did not know why he was going down there, and when he did, he tried to save as many Morlocks as he could. However, the damage was done. Warren especially, as it was during this massacre that his feathered wings were ruined and he was transformed into Archangel, had a hard time forgiving Remy, and abandoned him after a mission in Antarctica, refusing to let him stay with the X-Men.

Betsy faced one of her worst enemies yet, the Shadow King. She managed to shut him down on the astral plane, but at the same time, she shut down all psychic abilities worldwide. Any hero with psychic powers was now without them, until their minds healed over time. Betsy lost hers for good, for if she used them again, she ran the risk of letting the Shadow King free. After her recent death and resurrection, and the psi-war, Warren and Betsy decided to retire from the X-Men.

This team also helped out during the Onslaught crisis by helping the other heroes of the world stop the various attacks Onslaught was causing. However, since many of the heroes believed this to be Magneto's fault, they had trouble working with Joseph, and decided to fight him instead. Rogue had defend him against everyone else, especially Magneto's children, the twins Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch of the Avengers.

With Warren and Betsy gone, Xavier behind bars, and Remy wandering the world alone, the Blue Strike Force was no more.

1990s - The X-Men

The X-Men: Cyclops (Scott Summers); Marvel Girl (Jean Grey-Summers); Archangel (Warren Worthington III); Iceman (Robert "Bobby" Drake); Beast (Hank McCoy); Storm (Ororo Munroe); Wolverine (James "Logan" Howlett); Colossus (Piotr Rasputin); Rogue (Anna Marie); Psylocke (Elizabeth "Betsy" Braddock); Jubilee (Jubilation Lee); Gambit (Remy LeBeau); Bishop (Lucas Bishop); Revanche (Kwannon); and team founder Professor X (Charles Xavier).

1991 - X-Men

This was a new era for the X-Men. Mutants from various eras of the team had all united under Charles Xavier to form a strong voice for mutant rights. They dedicated themselves to protecting humans and mutants, stopping enemies both super-powered and human, and working to make the world a better place for people of all colours and types to live in.

Of course, the times had become that much more dangerous. More and more mutants were were being discovered all over the world. After seeing what mutants are capable of over the years, anti-mutant hate groups had sprung up like never before, and with stronger support and weaponry to try and annihilate those that are different. Other mutants decided to take matters into their own hands, and try and remake the world and society in the way they saw fit, and by any means necessary.

The X-Men were not without allies. After this team proved themselves time and time again, a new X-Factor was introduced under the care of Alexander Summers aka Havok. Former members of the X-Men were still fighting in the team Excalibur under Brian Braddock aka Captain Britain. Xavier's next generation of X-Men, The New Mutants, were now grown up and had formed the team X-Force.

With tension building for a war between humans and mutantkind, this was the beginning of an all new, all different, all deadlier age for the X-Men.

This team of X-Men was known as the Gold Strike Force, led by Ororo Munroe. It mainly consisted of the senior members of the X-Men. However, just as this team was starting out, they met Bishop, an X-Man from the future. While chasing criminals in his future, he came across a message from Jean Grey-Summers warning the other X-Teams of a traitor within their midst, who had killed the other X-Men. At the end of the message, it seemed the traitor had gotten to her too. When Bishop first met Gambit, he thought he was the traitor, and did not trust him, as he was the only other X-Man alive in his future.

At the same time, a new group of villains, called the Upstarts, were playing a deadly game with the former members of the Hellfire Club, and the former members of the New Mutants and Hellions - whoever kills the most, wins. Jean Grey seemingly died again, but had really switched bodies with her nemesis Emma Frost to save them both. Emma Frost was then kept in Xavier's custody until she could wake up.

They also faced off against Trevor Fitzroy, a future member of the Hellfire Club from Bishop's timeline. They also dealt with newer Sentinels, Magneto and his Acolytes, Apocalypse, and the mutant Stryfe - a clone of the leader of X-Force. Cameron Hodge, a villain from their X-Factor days, resurfaced and unleashed a techno-organic virus called the Phalanx to exterminate the next genernation of young mutants. After the virus was defeated, Sean Cassidy aka Banshee and Emma Frost, after waking from her coma, decided to train this next genernation of mutants and formed the student-team known as Generation X.

Also, a new disease had broken out thanks to Mr.Sinister - the Legacy Virus. It was an incurable disease that killed only mutants. Already, former New Mutant member and Piotr's sister Illyana had succumbed to the virus, and he could do nothing but watch her wither away. After this, he left the team and joined Magneto's Acolytes on their space station Avalon.

Warren decided not to go back to using his old code-name of Angel because he was still dealing with the repercussions of Apocalypse's transformation on him. He soon started a relationship with Betsy Braddock. Jean Grey decided that she too would no longer use her old code-name of Marvel Girl, as she was not the same person after Phoenix and Madelyne had taken a part of her life. Ororo finally decided to end relationship with Forge by refusing to accept his proposal to marry.

Most importantly, Scott had finally asked Jean to marry him, and she accepted. They were sent 2000 years into the future to raise Scott's son Nathan by Mother Askani for their honeymoon. They also learned that the leader of X-Force, Nathan Dayspring, was actually the the grown up Nathan Christopher Summers from the future. When they returned from the future, they were soon faced with an enemy that they never thought they would ever face - Professor X.

This team of X-Men was known as the Blue Strike Force, and consisted most of the recent additions of the team. It was led by Cyclops. This team had alot to go through before they managed to truly work together as a unit. The team had a hard time functioning with the child Jubilee helping them. Rogue and Remy felt an attraction to each other, but could not build on that relationship due to her inabilty to touch. Betsy decided to try and win Scott over, but soon gave up and started a relationship with Warren, while still trying to deal with being in a Japanese body. Logan and Scott returned to their rivalry over Marvel Girl. When he heard of their marriage, he refused to attend their wedding.

This team managed to find out what happened to Longshot after he disappeared into the Mojoworld. Together with Dazzler, they tried to save him from an attack, but he seemingly died before the team managed to get out of Mojoworld safely.

Soon, a young woman came to Xavier's - Elizabeth Braddock in her British body. However, she was now an assassin calling herself Revanche. The X-Men had no idea who to trust - the Japanese Betsy they had just gotten used to, or the British one they had first met. Neither woman was sure of her true identity either. Revanche decided to join the team until they had the situation figured out. In, the end, Revanche learned that she had contracted the Legacy virus released by Mr. Sinister. However, before she died, the truth managed to come out - Mojo and Spiral, always having a bone to pick with Betsy, spliced her body and mind with that of a ninja named Kwannon after she emerged from the Siege Perilious. Since Revanche was dying of the virus, she ran away from the X-Men, and tried to find her lover, the man who had originially turned Betsy into Lady Mandarin. When she found him, he decided to mercy kill her before she succumbed to the disease, then took his own life. After she died, the spliced parts of Psylocke were restored to her.

The team also had to fight Magneto and his Acolytes aboard his space station Avalon, which resulted in Magneto removing the adamantium bonding from Logan's body before Xavier managed to shut down his mind. They also had to fight against an enemy known as Omega Red, a Soviet Super Soldier, and an old enemy of Logan's. Sabretooth also returned to try and kill the only woman who has ever managed to beat him in battle - Psylocke.

After they managed to face through all of their internal battles, the team proved to be quite the formidable foe against their opponents. However, nothing they had ever faced could prepare them for the result of Xavier's battle against Magneto aboard Avalon.

104 - Overflow

In an African desert, a peasant is seen dying of thirst, traveling. A generous passer-by stops to give him water but as he aids the dying man, the man awakens to show his eyes are a dark purple. He then grabs the man’s face and the energy is passed into the passer-by. The peasant faints and the passer-by leaves.

At the X-Mansion, Logan is awakened by Charles. As Logan enters the room where the Professor is and the doors are closing, Emma is seen following him. The Professor claims they are in a meeting of the minds. He proceeds to tell him that Africa in his time is completely destroyed and that it occurred twenty years before the future time. Logan realizes that it will be soon. Professor X tells him that it was a catastrophe and that no one on the continent survived. Logan, confused, wonders what may have caused this and the Professor tells him it was Ororo who in the process took her own life. Professor tells Logan that he must find her before it is too late and then realized someone else is in the room. Emma is shown spying and Logan tells her to leave as the X-Men don’t need spies.

The next day Logan and Hank talk about the weather conditions in Africa. They discover that the event hasn’t happened yet and they need to find her. Hank then explains to Logan that they’ll need Cerebro and Emma and that she’ll want something in exchange to which Logan angrily repeats ‘’I know Hank’’ to each comment he makes. Emma and Logan talk about finding Storm to which they show they have trust issues. Eventually Logan agrees to trust Emma and she finds Storm.

Storm is the shown using her abilities to create rain and give water to an African village. Grateful, they have organized a celebration for her to which she exclaims ‘Another! We just had one.’ Kitty tries to get Scott to come help Storm and that she’s in danger but Bobby intervenes and they leave. They go to board the X-Jet which Forge has just finished repairing and he is terrified. While Logan is boarding he scratches the jet to calm Forge, saying that the first scratch is always the most painful. Scott then appears and to Logan’s surprise, he boards the jet.

Somewhere in Africa, close to the village, the parasite passes through body to body until it eventually reaches Storm and goes into her head. She begins to panic and everyone is told to go home. Inside her head, it is revealed that it is the Shadow King who has been coming to take revenge on Storm for destroying him. When Storm demands to know who it is and what they are after, he claims that he was like a father to her and a flashback of Storm’s previous life is shown. In the flashback, Storm is shown as a young girl who steals for the Shadow King’s human form. When he threatens to attack Storm, the Professor intervenes and defends Storm. When Storm remembers, she exclaims that he was destroyed to which he replies only his body, and that he has been travelling as the Shadow King. Storm asks the Shadow king what he wants and he tells her that he wants what happened to him to happen to her and he begins to burn Africa. Storm not wanting her home to be destroyed, summons rain and tells her friend to run from the fire and he tells her that there is no fire but she is too distracted to hear.

On their way, the X-Men realize that the event has begun and Logan speeds up. The dam in which the water for the village was being held breaks, and the village begins to flood. Arriving, the X-Jet speeds towards the location. When Storm looks at it, the jet seems to be a giant fire ball, so she creates a tornado which sends the jet flying into the dam. The jet sinks and Cyclops, Emma and Iceman manage to get out first. Kitty then phases Wolverine and Beast through the roof and they swim to the surface. Now watching what is occurring, Iceman creates a bridge for them to cross. Arriving closer to Storm, at the edge of the town, the Shadow King makes the fire seem worse. Storm panicking creates hail. Everyone manages to evade it using their powers but the winds are strong and a roof blows off hitting Iceman into Kitty who allows it to pass through. She runs after Iceman who has been thrown into the water but while helping an unconscious Iceman out, she too is knocked out by a piece of hail. Beast comes to their aid and Wolverine, Cyclops and Emma continue towards Storm.

Wolverine, using Cyclops’ optic blast to bring down Storm, is able to talk to her but it doesn’t work. Emma then goes into her mind and tells her the truth and realizes that the Shadow King is who is behind this. He slaps Emma which knocks her out of Storms head. She goes back in only to be hit again. Storm now knowing the truth stops the rain and winds but is left weak. Logan realizes that he is too powerful and begins to talk to her saying that is was all a lie. Wolverine states that Storm is too weak for him to use, so the Shadow King decides to take over Wolverine but Emma intervenes and a fight ensues. Keeping him out of a host body, Emma gets the upper hand and is able to defeat the Shadow King. Africa has been saved and the villagers are happy to see that their day of terror is over. Wolverine and Emma are seen having a moment in which it seems they are both beginning to trust each other, perhaps due to Emma nearly sacrificing herself to save Storm.

Storm and Wolverine are then seen watching the Professor and they speak about what the future will be like. Storm says that she is staying alongside her family (the X-Men) and that they must ensure when the Professor awakens, it is a world worth living in.

104 – Deadly Reunions

“Deadly Reunions” starts at the X-Mansion with Professor X entering the mind of Sabretooth. Professor X witnesses Sabretooth’s tormented thoughts and paranoia. One demon in particular resembles Wolverine. Wolverine is still furious that his old enemy is allowed to remain in the X-Mansion, and he disappears in disgust.

After Sabretooth’s therapy session, the X-Men are alerted that Magneto is attacking another human populated target. Magneto is destroying a chemical plant in order to attract Professor X. Cyclops, Rogue, Storm, and Professor X proceed to the chemical plant, while young Jubilee is left to guard Sabretooth.

At the chemical plant, Cyclops, Rogue and Storm engage Magneto. All three are quickly dispatched, however Professor X enters the chemical plant to confront Magneto. Xavier desperately tries to convince Magneto that his current actions are the same as humanity's past monsters, but his is unconvinced and relates the Mutant race's current struggle to his people's near destruction long ago. Just as Magneto prepares to finish his former friend off, Xavier unleashes a mental barrage and Magneto is tormented by suppressed memories of his childhood in Poland under the ruthless Nazi regime. Forced to remember the horrors he and his family suffered during the Holocaust, he retreats in complete panic and agony.

During all this, Cyclops is rendered unconscious from noxious fumes, and Storm is buried under a collapsed wall with Rogue. Storm’s claustrophobia incapacitates her ability to fight Magneto. Rogue, on the other hand, cannot be kept down for very long. She pulls Storm free from the rubble, and locates Cyclops. Unfortunately, Rogue has to perform CPR on Cyclops, resulting in her temporarily absorbing his mutant power. Rogue is forced to keep her eyes shut or risk destroying everything in her line of sight with Cyclops’ optic energy blasts, and Professor X guides her with his telepathy.

Back at the X-Mansion Jubilee is watching the local news. Senator Robert Kelly announces his candidacy for President. Kelly also announces his mutant policy calling for the internment of all mutants. Sabretooth growls in disgust and complains about his wrist bindings. A na├»ve Jubilee loosens the restraints, and Sabretooth captures Jubilee. Sabretooth reveals that he is working for Magneto, and his mission is to destroy the X-Mansion. With the X-Men battling Magneto, Sabretooth’s mission is ripe for success.

However, his mission has one unaccounted obstacle. Sabretooth’s archrival leaps from the shadows; as Wolverine did not stray very far. Their battle is interrupted with the return of Professor X and the other X-Men. Xavier firmly reminded Wolverine that the X-Men never seek revenge, even if endangering the members of the team. Jubilee tries to convince Xavier of Sabretooth's malicious intents, however the distraction gives the sadistic mutant the opportunity to slash Wolverine across the torso. Just as he thinks he has Wolverine down, Jubilee, with quick thinking, blasts Sabretooth out of the mansion and he runs off. Although he survives thanks to his healing factor, Wolverine is critically injured and is placed in the infirmary. Later, Xavier apologizes to an unconscious Wolverine for not listening to him. He felt that he was thinking more like Magneto by bringing Sabretooth, an evil mutant, to his cause. He may have failed, but he will not fail again, or else Magneto or those like him will prevail. Finally, Magneto made his choice just like Xavier did. He vowed that Mutants shall "come to him by the thousands" and will destroy Charles Xavier. Afterwards, Magneto hovers away thus ending the episode.

1980-1990 - The Uncanny X-Men

The Uncanny X-Men: Storm (Ororo Munroe); Wolverine (James "Logan" Howlett); Banshee (Sean Cassidy); Psylocke (Elizabeth "Betsy" Braddock); Jubilee (Jubilation Lee); Forge; and Gambit (Remy LeBeau)

1989 - X-Men

This team started out as a salvage mission by Wolverine. He was searching the globe for what had happened to his teammates after they passed through the Siege Perilious. However, where Logan goes, danger is usually right behind him. Enter Jubilee, a young mutant who had secretly been staying at the Austrailian base. She went with him in his search, and the two quickly developed a father-daughter relationship.

They first met Betsy in their travels, but she was not the Betsy they had once known. Somehow, her British body had disappeared, and she was now a Japanese assassin known as Lady Mandarin. Logan managed to rescue her, but neither could come up with an answer as to the transformation that had taken place.

They decided to leave Piotr and Alison alone, as they seemed happy with their new lives; and they knew that it was impossible to find Longshot since Mojo had taken him. However, the three X-Men needed more allies to find Alex, Ororo, and Rogue. Wolverine called his old friend Sean Cassidy, formerly Banshee of the X-Men, and he rejoined the team. Also, Forge, and mutant ally of Xavier's friend Moira Mactaggert, also joined the team. He started a relationship with team leader Storm, but that began to head for trouble when the precog Destiny was murdered. Her last vision was that Forge's soulmate would be Mystique.

Rogue was battling the Ms. Marvel persona in her head, even briefly dressing in her costume and calling herself Carol Danvers. When they managed to bring her back to her senses, she felt she needed to figure out who she was and decided not to rejoin the team. The resulting lifestyle had Rogue and Erik Lensherr, the man known as Magneto, developing a romantic relationship. Ororo, having been reduced to a child-like state, had become the thief she once was while living in Cairo. As she was in a vulnerable state, a young thief named Remy LeBeau took her under his wing and protected her. When the X-Men found them, Ororo convinced them to let Gambit join the team.

They met Alex on the island known as Genosha, a slave encampment for mutants. They discovered a plan called X-Tinction Agenda - a way to wipe out mutantkind. It took the combined efforts of X-Factor, the New Mutants, and the X-Men to stop them. Alex then decided to recover with Moira Mactaggert on Muir Island.

Soon enough, Xavier returned to Earth after his stay with the Shi'ar. But he was captured by the mutant known as Apocalypse, who wanted to destroy the infant son of Scott Summers. After rescuing Alex from Muir Island, the X-Men joined together with X-Factor to stop the immortal mutant. However, more help was needed. They pulled in Rogue, Polaris, and newcomers Strong Guy and Multiple Man, and even had to break Dazzler and Colossus out of their happy lives in order to defeat him. However, it was not without a loss. Cyclops had to send his infant son into the future with a woman known as Mother Askani to save him from a disease Apocalypse had infected him with.

After bringing the team together again from the Siege Perilious, and fighting side by side with X-Factor, the mutants decided to combine their teams and reunite as the X-Men once more.

103 – Enter Magneto

"Enter Magneto" begins with Beast incarcerated for his actions in the last episode. As Beast reads Animal Farm, he is mocked by the prison guards, who think that he is reading a picture book. The bigoted guards cannot fathom that Beast is literate. The prison, however, is soon under attack, and anything metal is twisted and torn: Enter Magneto.

Magneto has come to rescue Beast, but Beast refuses to escape. He wants to prove his innocence at a public trial. Magneto and Beast debate the Mutant/Human conflict as the prison guards mount an attack against Magneto. Magneto destroys the small attackforce including their tanks and other armored vehicles.

In the X-Mansion, Professor Xavier watches the video tape from the prison, and informs Jubilee of his past relationship with Magneto. He describes Magneto as an old friend that he met in an hospital, and how in the face of a brutal army, Magneto becomes convinced that peace between mutants and normal humans is not possible. Xavier was forced to stop Magneto then, and it appears that Xavier must stop Magneto again.

At Beast's bail hearing, Wolverine and Cyclops watch the proceeding from the back of the courtroom. Beast explains to the court that he is incarcerated because he was rescuing mistreated mutants. The enraged courtroom audience begins to shout at Beast. He borrows language from William Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice", thus comparing antisemitism to anti-mutant bigotry, and when he is denied bail, he is seen holding a copy of "Crime and Punishment", by Fyodor Dostoevsky.

As the guards escort Beast back to his cell, Sabretooth watches as a prison guard shoves Beast to the ground, and demands that Beast be set free, prompting the guards to shoot Sabretooth with laser guns. Cyclops wants to aid Sabertooth before the guards inflict serious injury, but Wolverine refuses to help and warns everyone that Sabretooth can not be trusted; however, Cyclops brings Sabertooth to the Mansions' infirmary anyway. Wolverine wants Sabertooth removed from the mansion, but Xavier refuses. Storm states that some people wanted Wolverine to leave when he first came, but that he was also allowed to stay. The argument is interrupted when an alarm indicates Magneto is attacking a military missile facility.

As the X-men arrive on the scene, Magneto is preparing to launch nuclear missiles at strategic human targets in order to ensure the outbreak of a war between mutants and humans. Cyclops, Storm, and Wolverine face off with Magneto, but are unable to stop him. As Magneto leaves to prepare for the war, Storm is able to use her control over wind and lightning to cause the computers in the missiles to short-circuit, deactivating them and drop them into the water. Nevertheless, disabling the missiles demands too much from Storm's powers; she becomes unconscious and is caught just in time by Wolverine. Having prevented a nuclear war, the X-men return to the mansion, having learned the full power of Magneto. Magneto on the other hand, ponders why Charles Xavier "turns on his own kind."
